Hiawatha Academies is a network of tuition-free public charter schools in Minneapolis's Northrop and Seward neighborhoods. CKC Good Food is proud to be the food service partner to Hiawatha's three schools, which combined serve students from kindergarten to 12th grade. This edition of our Team Spotlight shines a light on our team at Hiawatha Collegiate High School.
Amanda has been with CKC Good Food for more than 8 years. She enjoys working with people and students and considers CKC like a big family, which she loves. At Hiawatha Collegiate, she is responsible for placing food orders, prepping and cooking breakfast and lunch, and serving meals. Before joining CKC Good Food, Amanda worked for FedEx and held sales positions. When she's not working, she's spending time with her family: Jestin, her partner of 12 years, and their three wonderful children Cody, Ava and Brayden. They also have two Cornish rex cats and a French bull dog.
Sabrina marked her third anniversary with CKC Good Food on February 15! She is a vital team member at Hiawatha Collegiate, where she cuts and dices fruits and vegetables for the salad bar, serves students and cleans the kitchen. Interacting with students is her favorite part of the job. Sabrina was previously a Hiring Manager at IHOP. Perhaps she was drawn to work in the food service industry because she loves trying different recipes at home. Or maybe working food service inspired that hobby? She also likes to read books in her free time.
Maria is new to CKC Good Food, having joined the company in December 2023. She's no stranger to food service though, she previously owned a steakhouse. Maria opens the Hiawatha Collegiate kitchen every morning and makes sure everything is ready to go for the day. She also serves breakfast and lunch, and helps clean up at the end of the day. So far, she's liking everything about her job. Maria enjoys walking her dog and hiking when she's not working.
