CKC Good Food is pleased to announce Christine (Chris) Keim, DTR has been hired as the company's Recipe Development & Nutrition Coordinator. Chris is a seasoned professional who brings experience as a trainer and kitchen manager in public school settings. She is a motivated leader with strong organizational, food safety and HACCP skills.
"I look forward to influencing the menus and helping our kitchen teams serve food that nourishes," she said. "Because of my interest in childhood nutrition and concern for the childhood obesity rates, I went back to school to get my degree in public health with a minor in nutrition. I am excited to help contribute to improving the health of our young people."
As Recipe Development & Nutrition Coordinator, Chris will work with the menu planning team to create, test and execute new recipes, including those evaluated in our annual spring taste tests with groups from our client partners. She'll train our kitchen teams to prepare and serve our standardized recipes, ensuring consistency across all the sites we serve.
Many of her responsibilities are outside the kitchen: organizing and updating the recipe database to current requirements/regulations, meeting with vendors to test new ingredients and products, analyzing costs of recipes and helping structure our menus for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Prior to joining CKC Good Food, Chris was the general manager at Me & Julio's restaurant in Hastings while she earned her bachelor's degree. She was previously the Frontline Nutrition Services District Trainer for the food service staff in all 38 schools in the South Washington County School District. She also served as the Dietary Director at Highland Chateau and a Cook Manager at Bailey Elementary School in Woodbury.
In addition to her bachelor's degree, Chris has an associate's degree in dietetic technology and is a Certified Dietary Technician and a ServSafe-Certified Food Manager and Food Handler.
