Apply Today! NSLP Equipment Assistance Grant

The Minnesota Department of Education is currently accepting applications for USDA NSLP Kitchen Equipment Grants. Any school or nonprofit operating a foodservice program under the National School Lunch Program is eligible to apply. The deadline to apply is Dec. 20 at 3:30 p.m. CST. Applications are only being accepted through the official online submission form on SurveyGizmo. Below are the grant details from MDE's grant management directory.

Purpose Description:   This federal 2018 funding in the amount of $377,156, from the United States Department of Agriculture, CFDA 10.579, entitled "National School Lunch Equipment Assistance for School Food Authorities," will assist them in serving healthier meals which meet updated meal patterns, with emphasis on serving more fruits and vegetables, including items purchased locally, improving food safety and energy efficiency, expanding access and participation. Applicants may only apply for one piece of equipment costing between $3,000 and $25,000. In addition to the sections scored by reviewers, priority points are also a factor.

Eligible Applicants:   Minnesota public schools, Minnesota charter schools, and Minnesota Non-profit school food authorities may apply if they participate in the National School Lunch Program.
